At MOTHERSHIP we not only believe in the health benefits of yoga, but work to inform participants of the origins and culture around yoga.

Yogic practice is believed to have started with the very dawn of human civilization. The science of yoga has its origin thousands of years ago, long before many of the first religions/belief systems were born. In the yogic lore, Shiva is seen as the first yogi or Adiyogi, and the first Guru. Although practiced within the context of many spiritual practices, yoga does not adhere to any particular religion belief system or community. It has always been approached as a technology for inner wellbeing.

In this study via the International Journal of Yoga, yoga is proven to reduce stress & cortisol levels, improving psychological and physiological symptoms caused by various cancers including breast cancer.
